It depends on your case, but generally you cannot leave your house for anything other than work, school, Dr. appts and legal visits. The courts will sometime order house arrest with a curfew to low risk offenders.
What Happens If You Violate House Arrest?
The first offense and you will likely get a warning from your supervising agency, occasionally coming with increased penalties and/or fee’s, as you have made yourself a riskier case. In other cases the violation may be cause for Revocation by the courts, the Bondsman or other supervising agency. Remember that house arrest is a privilege to the client and a service for the monitoring company. What you do reflects negatively on them as well.
How Long Can You Be Put On House Arrest?
There is no set time associated with court ordered house arrest. It is a case by case biases. Unlike being released from jail on bond or OR bond, where you are not earning any time served credit while awaiting trial. However, If your house arrest is *managed by a GPS monitor* You can potentially earn Time served for every day you spent under court ordered house arrest towards your sentence (if your found guilty) for good behavior, and complying with all your conditions.
Can You Have Visitors On House Arrest?
As long as their is no court order or other conditions of release set specifying that you may not have contact with any certain person(s) by your Bondsman, Probation Officer, or other supervising agency.
